NATIONAL GOLD RESERVE
Reserve in the massif of Roc Blanc-Carlit, a site hosting several animals and offering many hikes.
On the borders of the Ariège and Catalan Pyrenees, in the Roc Blanc-Carlit massif, the reserve covers 4150 hectares of high mountains from 930 to 2765 metres in altitude. You can observe nearly 800 isards, marmots, eagles, hermines, falcons, golden eagles, capercaillie. The fauna is diversified by encouraging new species (bearded vulture), and those that are present are preserved (ptarmigan, capercaillie, desman, vulture, golden eagle). In a superb setting, many hikes are possible. Idea for a walk: the En Gaudu valley, 1 hour's walk from the car park.
