Located in Saint-Lizier, in the heart of the Ariege Pyrenees, Pays des Traces is a theme park dedicated to the science of ichnology. It invites you to learn more about the science of trace interpretation and the wonders of local fauna. The site offers a wide range of fun and entertaining activities. You can, for example, opt for a visit to the wolf cave to learn how to recognize the footprints of animals present in the region 20,000 years ago. Here, you can also make a mold of one of the site's archaeological features, such as a harpoon, bison or horse tooth. With the Végétanimal, a representation of the great Pyrenean fauna in taupe art, you can also discover the animals of the Pyrenees in a different way. Le Pays des Traces also offers a cave trail, ornithological tours, an immersive escape game and ichonological walks. The park's team of experts and enthusiasts will be delighted to pass on their knowledge of wildlife, archaeology and ichnology. For a more in-depth experience, opt for a stay at the Pays des Traces group accommodation and visitor center. You'll also find a store selling books, wooden objects, basketry, wines and jams.
