At the helm of La Table de Saint-Paul, Le Clos Cathala's restaurant, is Géraldine Portoles, a creative chef who delighted us at Les Remparts de Mirepoix, making this establishment a must for Ariège gastronomy. The rooms are welcoming, the garden relaxing, and the cuisine, which lives up to our expectations, is prepared with fresh, local or garden produce, changing regularly according to inspiration and the season. You can sleep in cosy rooms on site. An excellent address that has become a great address.

It was a one-of-a-kind antique French château experience (but the American idea of chateau, since the literal translation is actually a stone castle). This mansion home was purchased by a French renown chef so the restaurant and catering is the biggest draw besides the gorgeous countryside view at every angle. They prepared a 5 course meal, despite ordering the 3 course meal with wine. However, they also offered me complimentary tastings of dishes from an event they were simultaneously catering with my aperitif. The wine pairings were expertly served.||It is the perfect small private gathering venue, and could see it being a dreamy wedding venue.||No guest wifi standardly available for international travelers… yet. Cellular service works quite well for French phones. Not best if you expect to work using the web.||Don’t expect contemporary hotel service, but rather a more friendly country inn type of greeting and staff availability, and expect interesting details of your environment everywhere you look.

Le restaurant est très élégant, on y sert des plats délicieux faits avec des produits de qualité.
J’ai été ravie par chaque dîner que j’y ai fait, d’autant plus que le service est irréprochable.
