MUSÉE DES COLPORTEURS
Home of the visionary Maurice Souquet and also a store considered to be the hub of peddlers in the 19th and 20th centuries
As soon as we see the wooden storefront, we know we're in for a trip back in time! Hardware, grocery, hosiery... We're standing in front of the home of the visionary Maurice Souquet. In the 19th and 20th centuries, this store, which closed in the 1950s, was the "hub" for peddlers, who stocked up on supplies before setting off to sell their wares on the roads and paths of the many valleys, on their way to the most remote villages. This interesting museum is entirely dedicated to them. A must-see.
