THE FLOOR
Built in 1347 by the Augustins, driven from Sainte-Eulalia-d'Olt who settled in Saint-Geniez, the cloister now houses the tourist office, the town hall and part of the administrative services. This site open to the public is a fine example of the architecture of the th and th centuries. In the town Hall, Council meetings and weddings are held in the Hall of the Illustrious, with paintings from personalities who have marked local history: Father Guillaume Raynal, the th philosopher, Father Bonnaterre, who made the first observations on the wild child, Pierre Thédenat, mathematician, Count of Frayssinous (this space is accessible on a guided tour)… Every Saturday morning the cloister takes on a particular activity: descendus producers from the Aubrac or the Val d'Olt, at market time, poultry, semi-fatty and candied, fresh and refined volumes, small goats, honey and other seasonal vegetables. While some of these manufacturers are former peasant lines of others, they are of more recent strain, each contributing to the agricultural vitality of the department.
