FLORENCE OLMI-MOSAÏSTE D'ART
In her Cransac studio, mosaic artist Florence Olmi imagines pieces that are both aesthetic and useful. The young woman, who came to the craft industry after a few years in tourism development, knows perfectly how to use pliers and hammer to give her raw materials - Briare enamels or Venetian enamels, glass paste, marble or "simple stones collected during a walk" - the desired shape. If the small squares or leaves she cuts in this way are always irregular, the curves and perspectives of her creations are of incredible accuracy. The spheres, floating or to be placed, and the totems she patiently assembled for an exhibition in the gardens of Le Suquet - Sébastien Bras' restaurant in Laguiole - had made a great impression last year. Specializing in the customization of outdoor spaces - landscaped parks, gardens or ponds - she also knows how to perfectly adapt her work to the house and its various rooms, kitchens and bathrooms in mind, for which she recommends mosaics with a little artistic touch. This is more than enough for a decorative art that already has a great look.
