Former coal mine with a solar power plant in Decazeville with many hiking trails.
Mined between 1892 and 2001, this former coal mine was the largest open-cast coal mining operation in France. Now rehabilitated, the site offers numerous hiking trails, as well as exceptional panoramic views from its summit. Nearby, you'll find the last 22-metre-high headframe in the Basin. Built between 1902 and 1904, this monument to underground mining is a testament to the Basin's extensive mining activity.
