Standing for a thousand years on its volcanic peak, the castle dominates Espalion and the Lot valley, and offers an exceptional panorama from the Causses to the Aubrac. Having undergone no transformation, it bears witness to the conditions of military life in the Middle Ages. Today, "knights" retrace the attack and defence of a fortress during the Hundred Years War. Visitors can discover the art of warfare in the Middle Ages, thanks to animations including archery demonstrations, archery initiations for children and creative workshops.

Agréablement surprise par cette visite ! Ruines oui mais majestueuses et choyées ; tout est bien pensé, plein de petits jeux tout autour des remparts pour les petits (mais pas que !), des salles d'exposition modernes avec des armes, armures et autres objets trouvés sur le site... Et enfin merci à "Robin des bois" pour sa bonne humeur, ses conseils de visite, sa talentueuse démonstration d'archerie et ses explications riches en petites anecdotes. Je reviendrai en famille avec mes enfants.
