Joseph-Vaylet Museum located in Espalion, presenting a discovery of everyday objects, costumes, dishes and tools
The originality of this museum is to have been installed in the old church Saint-Jean, which dates from the 15th century. This gothic setting houses the collections of Joseph Vaylet, an Espalionnais who has endeavoured to preserve part of the Rouergat heritage by collecting various items. One discovers thus usual objects, costumes, crockery and tools. And we get lost in this hodgepodge of unusual objects, where carved wooden apple-breakers rub shoulders with a painted wooden skeleton and a unique piece in Rouergue, a calelh holder - wooden oil lamp.
