ST. CAPITANO'S CATHEDRAL
The cathedral is named after a martyr, Saint Caprais. Decapitated, his skull rests in a reliquary at the back of the chapel. On the east side, observe the very comical modillions on the Romanesque apsidioles, especially this little piggy who hides his eyes. The 19th century bell tower is built in the Gothic style. The facade has been renovated and the forecourt, inaugurated in 2020, leaves more room for pedestrians. The pilgrim of Toutain looks towards the road to Compostela and archaeological discoveries were made during its renovation (sarcophagus, coffins ...).
