DOCTOR ESQUIROL'S PLACE
A square in the heart of Agen, framed by the town hall, the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Théâtre Ducourneau.
In the heart of Agen, this square is framed by 3 monuments in the heart of the city: the town hall, the Musée des Beaux-Arts and the Théâtre Ducourneau. In addition to the museum (see page in this guide), the town hall was built in 1666 on the site of the medieval Château de Monrevel, and houses the magnificent Salle des Illustres. The theater owes its name to the man who donated 682,928 gold francs to his town, half of which was used to build this Italian-style theater offering an original program.
