The Lacaune, Roquefort's emblematic ewe, is the queen of this festival, which combines a gourmet hike with a flock parade.
For more than 25 years, Réquista has been celebrating the ewe, and more particularly the Lacaune, which produces the milk used to make Roquefort cheese. It's an opportunity to bring the general public together around a program that gives pride of place to local produce. La ronde de la brebis is a gourmet hike, punctuated by several tastings (spit-roasted cake, sausage, wine, roquefort, etc.), which opens the festivities early in the morning. The other highlight of the event is the sheep parade through the town's streets. A merry hullabaloo to the sound of bandas.
