Home to the Saint-Affrique archives, a library dedicated to regional history and a folk culture museum
Emile Borel (1871-1956), mathematician and social scientist, was born in this house. At the end of the 19th century, the house became the seat of the sub-prefecture and lost this function in 1926. The opening in 1994 of the Maison de la Mémoire du Pays Saint-Affricain to the public brings together the past and the future. It houses the town's archives, a library specialising in regional history and a museum of popular culture, where you can discover the everyday objects and tools of the people of Saint-Affricain from the end of the 19th to the beginning of the 20th century.
