THE PRIORY OF COMBEROUMAL
Former Romanesque priory of the monks of the Order of Grandmont, which is thought to have been founded in 1192, remarkably well preserved, it is listed as a historic monument. Church, cloister, kitchens, refectory and dormitory... the small community of twelve to fifteen monks was dedicated to prayer and meditation. Sold in 1791 as a national property, the priory became a farm. Today the site can be visited freely all year round and regular events take place in the place, which has been renovated in the meantime. The priory farm is made up of 350 white sheep from the Massif Central and Berrichonnes du Cher, who give birth to lambs under the mother raised organically. Visitors are invited to respect the calm and silence of the site.
