One of the jewels of the Romanesque in the compendium of which Conques is the jewel.
Small red sandstone church, to note its grotesque figures by crushing roof, historiés or foliage capitals, and especially… one of the most beautiful Virgin to the Child of the th century! The whole church converges towards this sculpture on gilded wood on the leaf. Virgin and Child in Majesty, curious mixture of divinity and humanity, a in a sublime style and without chichi, far from any mannerism but not without mystery. The whole was paid to historic monuments only in 2009, until its protection was the only fact of the village community. The steeple is an addition of the th century.
