For forty-five years, Sylvanès Abbey has been setting the stage each year with its International Festival of Sacred Music and World Music. This not-to-be-missed event features internationally-renowned artists working on a specific theme, and offers the chance to hear choirs, solo singers and organists perform sacred, liturgical, classical and traditional works. Performances take place in the former 12th-century Cistercian abbey.

Nestled in a valley in the heart of the forest, in an exceptional natural and patrimonial setting, the former Cistercian abbey of Sylvanès is today a high place of Culture, Art and Spirituality. To experiment, to share, to transmit are the major objectives of this center of creation, education and musical diffusion installed in the walls of an abbey founded in the 12th century.
The abbey is a major place of Cistercian history and architecture, and its rich historical heritage is now complemented by a cultural meeting place which, through music, aims to offer a space for intercultural dialogue.
