THE ORTHODOX CHAPEL
Russian church built in the style of the seventeenth century, consisting of several large rooms, bare and topped by a dome.
On the fringe of the abbey, this wooden building has a beautiful history. Following a kind of cultural and spiritual exchange, a Russian church built in the style of the 7th century was dismantled and sent by train to Millau, under the aegis of a patronage of the SNCF. For more than six months, young Russians have been reassembling it in a clearing in the Granges-de-Pessales forest. This magnificent church made of blond pine wood is made up of several vast, uncluttered rooms topped by a dome and a bell tower that reaches a height of 27 m! Impressive.
