ROMANESQUE CHURCH OF ST. MARY
In Aubiac, this church is classified as a historical monument and has a military-looking facade with its two square towers.
Classified as a historical monument, it dates from the 11th century. Its facade of military aspect with its two square towers, hides a superb nave, overhung by a cylindrical vault in arbour, typical of the Romanesque art. Its chevet in the shape of a cloverleaf reminds us of the Merovingian building in this place before it and sarcophagi under the sacristy also testify to this. The lantern tower at the crossing of the transept is reminiscent of Carolingian creations with its colors and decorations.
