Town hall on the Place de la Libération, with an Italian-style theater hosting a variety of shows and the Salle des Illustres
This grand building overlooking the Place de la Libération, whose construction was instigated by the famous Intendant d'Étigny, is home to a few surprises. A magnificent Italian-style theater, whose decoration he financed in its entirety, hosts a variety of shows throughout the year. Upstairs is the famous Salle des Illustres, a listed historic monument, featuring portraits of Gers residents who have left their mark on the history of the Gers. These paintings are the work of Gustave de Lassalle-Bordes, a local artist and Delacroix's assistant under Napoleon III.
