GASCON HOUSE
Maison de Gascogne, built between 1837 and 1843 by the great master carpenter Tournier in Auch, is a listed building.
Listed as a historic monument, this former grain market built between 1837 and 1843 hosts a number of events within its walls: exhibitions of local produce and arts and crafts in July and August, gourmet fairs and other markets the rest of the year. As you enter, the charm of the woodwork takes over. It is the work of the great master carpenter Tournier. Its walls display the caduceus of commerce. Opposite the covered market stands the central post office, a handsome 18th-century building that was once the prefecture, after having served as the intendance building.
