Surrounded by grand old facades, bearing the old painted signs of the shops of yesteryear, this charming square is tightly articulated around the 18th-century Halle aux Herbes (without partition at the time). Step inside to admire the beautiful wooden framework and the shelters still used by merchants at the Saturday morning market. All around, steep streets lead to the cathedral, rue Dessoles and the Jacobins museum.
