HAMLET OF AURENQUE
If the village of Castelnau-d'Arbieu is already very beautiful in itself, perched on its hill, the commune has another jewel: the hamlet of Aurenque, almost on the banks of the Gers, halfway between Fleurance and Lectoure. In this region, it is rare to find such a charming place in a hollow of a valley. The lack of a true viewpoint is compensated for by the Romanesque bridge over the river, and closed to traffic when the river is flooded. A washhouse, a dam, a marked hiking trail, an old water mill in ruins, a small cemetery next to a beautiful rural chapel are all charming places that reflect the simplicity of rural life. Any idea of a walk from the 3 valleys campsite?
