ARMAGNAC MUSEUM
Museum retracing the history of Armagnac, installed in the outbuildings of the former episcopal palace of Condom, to discover.
Installed in the outbuildings of the former episcopal palace, this museum retraces the history of the Gascon beverage par excellence: armagnac. You will discover that since the Middle Ages, this liquor was exported to Bayonne or Bordeaux. But it is at the beginning of the 19th century, thanks to its waterway, the Baïse, that Condom became the capital of the armagnac trade. From the work of the soil to the distillation, everything is explained about this oldest brandy of France, formerly called " aygue ardente " and reputed to cure many diseases (not only digestive ones!).
