SAINT-SATURNIN CHURCH
Church built on the initiative of Arnaud de Grossoles, notable for its impressive wall-belfry with two bells in Flamarens
The church of Saint-Saturnin dates back to the 16th century and was built on the initiative of Arnaud de Grossoles. It was part of the defensive system of the village. Its southern wall was embedded in the fortifications and a watchtower, still visible, was built against its impressive bell tower with two bells. The roof of the church collapsed in 1971, and the south wall of the nave in 2004. The association "Les Amis de Flamarens" has been working for years with perseverance for the restoration of the building. The work should end in September 2023.
