FOUNTAIN STATUES
Four bronze fountain statues representing the four seasons, based on models by the Fleurance sculptor.
Take the time to walk around the Place de la République to admire the fountains located in the four corners of the hall. These four bronze statues represent the four seasons: spring in the northeast, summer in the southeast, autumn in the southwest and winter in the northwest. They were created in the 19th century thanks to a bequest from Adolphe Cadéot, then mayor of Fleurance. These "fountain-statues" were created by the Durenne workshop in Sommevoir, Haute-Marne, based on models by sculptor Albert-Ernest Carrier-Belleuse.
