SAINT-GERVAIS-SAINT-PROTAIS CATHEDRAL
Saint-Gervais-Saint-Protais cathedral in Lectoure, housing a museum of sacred art inside an imposing bell tower
Built in the 13th century, the cathedral has undergone many changes. The facade, nave and bell tower were destroyed in 1473. The new bell tower rises to 45 meters. The interior houses a museum of sacred art with liturgical objects, reliquaries, religious images, burials and chasubles. It is possible to climb the bell tower with a guide from the Tourist Office and admire the panorama and the well-ordered plan of the city. There are organ concerts in the summer.
