Chapel built near the tomb of Majan, evangelizer of Lombez, rebuilt several times, the current one dates from 1872
At the top of the hillside overlooking Lombez, a chapel was built near the tomb of Majan as soon as he died around 610. Rebuilt several times, the present chapel dates from 1872. Recent archaeological excavations have confirmed the presence of the saint's tomb in this place. Majan, evangelizer of the region, became the patron saint of Savès and was prayed for eye diseases and for his miracles. Thus was created a "golden" legend which tells that one day, going down the road near the present oratory, he found himself in the presence of a dragon which terrorized the country. He threw his episcopal ring into the mouth of the monster, which disappeared into the ground, where a fountain still exists on the path behind the hospital. The monstrous dragon represented the paganism that he had defeated to bring Christianity to the population of Savès.
