COOPÉRATIVE QUALISOL - GTAINES ET LÉGUMINEUSES DE FRANCE
In Monfort, happiness is in the meadow... organic! If the Gers is the leading organic department in France, Monfort is one of its best students. With 30% of its useful agricultural area cultivated organically, the municipality has the "Territoire Bio Engagé" label. This is due in particular to the presence of the Qualisol cooperative, which has a silo capable of handling 33,000 tonnes of organic cereals. The cooperative brings together 430 producers who grow wheat for flour, pulses (beans, lentils, corn, chickpeas) and seeds (sunflower, chia seeds, spelt). It markets the products under the Monbio brand and has also invested in a processing plant in Aude that offers specialities based on sprouted legumes, salads and ready meals. If it is not possible to obtain supplies directly from the cooperative, you will nevertheless find their products at the À l'Essentiel store, located on the square of the Monfort town hall.
