MARBLE ART
Howard and Claire Owen create marble statuettes reconstituted from marble powder. They source white marble from Carrara or black, green and grey marble from Saint-Béat in the Pyrenees. The models are made in modelling clay, in order to create a mould. Great amateurs and specialists of cats, they also realize quantities of other animals (elephants, owls, turtles, sea lions...). Their inspiration is also drawn from Chinese art, which sometimes borders on kitsch, such as these large laughing Buddhas, which are a great success.
