SAINT-PIERRE DE GENENS CHURCH
Romanesque church located south of Montreal, on the right bank of the Auzoue
This Romanesque church was built in the 12th century on the site of an ancient Gallo-Roman villa . It is located south of Montreal, on the right bank of the Auzoue. Only the walls remain, the place having been plundered by Montgomery's protestants in the 16th century and the remaining beams having been reused for the restoration of the bastide church. Funds are being raised to try to save what remains of its apse, pilasters and cornices.
