PALEONTOLOGICAL SITE OF BEON
A paleontological site holding a collection of fossils dating back 17 million years, and offering to unveil it to the public.
Dating back 17 million years, it is one of Europe's major sites and the largest paleontological deposit discovered in France in the last century. Owned by the Museum de Toulouse, 90 species have been recorded, including 50 species of mammals, reptiles, amphibians and birds. The local tourist office offers guided tours of the site in summer. For teenagers, Planète Sciences Occitanie offers summer camps with excavation sites.
