FOLDING CASTLE
Castle overlooking the hills of Lomagne with the Sainte-Mère tower and the Saint-Clar tower, contemporary art exhibition center
Between Lectoure and Miradoux, this castle has been overlooking the hills of Lomagne since 1340. Among the last Gascon citadels to have been built, it has two towers: the Sainte-Mère tower and the Saint-Clar tower, of which only the first has kept its original height. The whole has been redesigned several times, with the opening of windows in particular. The castle is now the property of the sulphurous writer Renaud Camus, who has turned it into an exhibition center for contemporary art, holding in particular the Jean-Paul Marcheschi collection.
