NOTRE DAME CHURCH
This church has magnificent stained glass windows which are the work of the master glass artist Joseph Villiet
Notre-Dame stands on the site of the original Albret collegiate church. Destroyed in 1568 during the Wars of Religion, it took over a century to rebuild. In the nave, the dates of successive restorations can be seen on the keystones. Another curiosity is the unusual inscription on the pediment of a religious building: "Liberté, égalité, fraternité". This signature was requested by the Republican state, which had paid for the repairs. Magnificent stained-glass windows by master stained-glass artist Joseph Villiet are also to be admired.
