Saint-Clar is the leading garlic-producing town in the Gers, a pretty village of around 1,000 inhabitants overlooking the Arratz valley, north-east of Fleurance. You'll be charmed by the village's medieval heritage, with its covered market, two arcaded squares, the church of Sainte-Catherine, the Garden of the Four Seasons and the Bishop's Palace. In summer, Saint-Clar comes alive with concerts, theatrical performances and gourmet evenings. A lake and the Escalaves leisure park, open all summer, are just 3 km from the village.
