LA CAFÈTE GASCOGNE
Grill, burgers and various local dishes in a restaurant in Samatan.
In a small street behind the town hall, this Cafe Gascony offers simple local dishes or fast food. You have salads in two sizes, including a Gascon salad, a vegetable soup in winter, nourishing and simmered dishes such as Spanish-style duck heart, burgers, grills, confits, lasagne and desserts, all of which can be eaten in or taken away. An address which has the merit, if not to serve a refined cuisine, to be open 7 days a week. At the counter, the regulars comment on the news...

Market day in Samatan and the place was busy. Locals come here for the local specialities I think that lot of English residents in the area come here and have snails which is a paradox. Anyway two formulas are available or Buffet a cheap formula based on all you can eat. I chose the card with assiette Gascone for a various meat dish (including a snail) that was nice. Quick service with two nice waitresses at the first floor and one at the bar and ground floor. Basic table and chairs and simple decor but a nice and honest table

Service was terrible and the staff were so rude. Ended up just having a drink before leaving. Was sat for ages waiting to order food but every time we asked was told to wait. People came, ate, and left whilst we was ignored. Would not recommend.
Manger un dimanche de pâques.
Le service impeccable
J'ai pris une côte de bœuf cuite au feu de bois, cuisson bien réalisé viande tendre.
Bref vraiment que du bon.
Je recommande en faire en famille.
