FONTAINE DE SAMATAN
This fountain located in the center of the village, in front of the town hall, is one of the symbols of Samatan.
In the centre of the village, in front of the town hall, an assembly of bricks and stones, this fountain is one of the symbols of Samatan. Built in 1843, it was originally used as a drinking trough for horses. In neo-classical style, the capitals are in Corinthian style, the figurines are mascarons (masks), the cast iron heads that discharge water are griffins. These protective geniuses are fabulous mythological animals with a lion's body, two wings and an eagle's beak. It was listed as a historic monument in 1998.
