SAINT-PIERRE CHURCH
Church with a square tower, side chapels and two bell towers, including a bell tower-porch, a remarkable site in Saramon.
This church is amazing, with its bell tower at one end and its fortified tower at the other, which give it an original silhouette. The church was erected in the 12th century, leaning against an abbey. If the functions of its square tower have been lost in the annals, it has been maintained through the centuries. In the 19th century, the vault of the church collapsed. Major remodeling work was undertaken: 4 chapels were added on the sides, a bell tower-gate was built in front, and the Saint-Victor tower was equipped with battlements and machicolations.
