MARCHÉ HEBDOMADAIRE ET AU GRAS
The traditional market takes place every Friday morning at Carnot Square and brings together the producers who animate the food pole, but also about non-sedentary traders of clothing, crafts and souvenirs. This meeting is an opportunity to find fresh, varied products that make Seissan the agricultural capital of the Gers valley. From October to March, it is mainly the famous fat market that is worth the show and under the hall dedicated to it, according to the period, carcases and foie gras are in honour, with over 3 tonnes sold for the latter! It is the most important event of the year and was established in 1532. It is worth noting that on Friday the 1 st of August, the old market is organized, entirely dedicated to the 1900 s, it is a real day of picturesque festivity that lasts until sunset. Old professions, old schools, old traditions, dance, music, music, flea and costumed characters make it a great tourist place whose success does not lie unchallenged.
