CHÂTEAU DE LAUBADE
This large vineyard of 105 ha is located a few kilometers from Nogaro in the Bas-Armagnac
In 2010, Château de Laubade celebrated its 140th anniversary with great fanfare. Situated a few kilometres from Nogaro in Bas-Armagnac, in the small commune of Sorbets, this large 105 ha wine-growing estate is the fruit of a family saga. Arnaud and Denis Lesgourgues continue the approach of excellence that was started for 30 years by their father Jean-Jacques, making the Château de Laubade an indisputable reference in Armagnac. It is one of the rare Gers estates to practice a sustainable farming with each year more than 400 ewes grazing in the vines so as to deposit their organic manures. In the same way, the permanent research for the highest quality is made possible thanks to a perfect control of all the stages of the elaboration of their brandies. Concerning the production, Château de Laubade produces blended armagnacs and vintage armagnacs: more than 70 different vintages, the oldest dating from 1888! But it also produces, of course, high quality wines. During your visit to the estate, you will be able to visit freely the park, the distillery, the ageing cellars (more than 2 800 barrels of 400 liters distributed in 7 ageing cellars for their breeding), as well as the dressing room. During free tastings you will discover some of the flacs de Gascogne and Armagnacs that are produced on the property. Don't hesitate to call them during office hours to find out when you can come for a visit.
