CHAPELLE DES CORDELIERS
Chapelle des Cordeliers retains its original structure, bell tower, basements and magnificent pointed portal.
Only the chapel remains of the old Cordeliers convent. In 1383, Jean III of Armagnac had it built near his castle. Badly damaged by Gabriel de Montgommery during the wars of religion, all that remains of its original structure is its bell tower, its foundations and above all its magnificent ogival portal. The church was lined with side chapels, some of which were destroyed during the Revolution and the three remaining ones became barns. The stucco sculptures above the altar represent the Assumption.
