LUCHON CHURCH
Church built by the architect Loupot in a neo-Romanesque historicist style, on the site of a former Romanesque collegiate church
In a neo-Romanesque historicist style, the church of Luchon was built in the middle of the 19th century on the site of a former Romanesque collegiate church by the architect Loupot. Notice the north portal in St-Béat marble dating from 1541. Inside, you will discover some major elements: frescoes by Romain Cazes, stained glass windows by Ernest de Nozan and an organ case by the famous Aristide Cavaillé-Coll. The instrument can play the French repertoire of the 19th and 20th centuries, from Widor to Louis Vierne. The Friends of the Organs organize concerts throughout the year.
