THE CHARACTER OF THE SOUTHWEST,
PERIOD.
We vibrate to the rhythm of the Art de Vivre of the South West. Our culture is made up of conviviality, festivity and gastronomy, and our lilting accent resonates and reveals all the character of the people and wines of our terroir.
The Cave "Les Marmandais" has recently joined a number of labels: Zéro Résidu de Pesticides (Zero Pesticide Residue), Haute Valeur Environnementale (High Environmental Value): these are just a few of the quality guarantees that highlight all the environmental and societal actions carried out by our winegrowers and employees.
Made in
SOUTHWEST
We are the proud standard-bearers of the "Made in Sud Ouest" Art de Vivre, a culture of conviviality, festivity and gastronomy, with a lilting accent that reveals the character of the people and wines of our region.
Located just a few kilometers from the town of Marmande, the vineyards of the Côtes du Marmandais appellation stretch along both banks of the Garonne: the right bank, land of Guyenne, and the left bank, land of Gascony. The Côtes du Marmandais thus benefit from the virtues of a unique, complementary and exceptional terroir.

COOPERATIVE
"The 21st century is witness to the effervescence of globalization
In this context, it seems essential to rely on essential reference points such as human values, authenticity and the identity of a terroir. The "Les Marmandais" winery brings these values together. It focuses on the intrinsic quality of its wines, its responsiveness and its ability to adapt to the demands and versatility of the market. The winery aims to breathe new life into an age-old business.
It stands out for the ambivalence of its attachment to new modes of communication and its desire to respect an authentic heritage built on the diversity of its terroirs, the organoleptic qualities of its wines and the uniqueness of its endemic grape variety, Abouriou.
This work of transmission is part of a long-term vision in which the people of Marmand consider it their responsibility to ensure a viable economic, social and environmental environment for future generations.
Our
HISTORY
The Garonne is the backbone of our Appellation and our region. History has been built around it, wines have flowed from it, and cultures have been enriched by it.
Since Gallo-Roman times, vines have played an important economic role in our region. In the Middle Ages, the Bordeaux wine trade was already using Marmandais wines to satisfy export demand. Numerous boats left the ports of Marmande, Couthure sur Garonne and La Réole for Bordeaux and then England.
The vineyards expanded in the 18th and 19th centuries, and became essential in the 20th century, when the improvement and recognition of our typicality became a priority.
The Cave du Marmandais was created in 2003 following the merger of the appellation's two cooperative wineries: La Cave de Beaupuy (Beaupuy created in 1947), located on the right bank, and La Cave de Cocumont (1956), located on the left bank (near the Vieille Eglise de Cocumont). The Cave du Marmandais became "LES MARMANDAIS" in 2022.
The Marmandais winegrowers obtained their AOC (Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée) in 1990.
