ABBAYE DE BOULBONNE
A former Benedictine abbey, testimony of the 18th century Cistercian architecture, marked by classicism, in Cintegabelle.
A beautiful and elegant brick building built around a magnificent cloister and its French boxwood garden. This ancient Benedictine abbey was attached in 1150 to the Cîteaux order. Destroyed by the Wars of Religion, it was rebuilt in the same place from 1652 to 1738. Destroyed again during the Revolution, fortunately only partially, the abbey is a testimony of the 18th century Cistercian architecture marked by classicism. Privately owned since 1842, it is open to visitors in summer and during the Heritage Days.
