SYMBIOSPHÈRE
Leslie Faggiano, doctor of ecology, Yann Le Portal, environmental engineer, and Pierre Le Portal, carpenter, combine all the talents to successfully carry this beautiful idea of wooden refuges for biodiversity. Their scop (cooperative and participatory society), called Symbiosphère, has set itself the mission of palliating the poor housing of insects, mammals, amphibians and reptiles, mistreated by urban sprawl. These three nature lovers have therefore imagined cottages for bees, butterflies, ladybirds, chrysopes - aphid eaters - and all their six-legged sidekicks. Symbiosphère also manufactures shelters for hedgehogs, bats, squirrels, weasels, ermine or nutmeg, as well as as asylums for lizards and nest boxes for birds. Leslie Faggiono, Yann and Pierre Le Portal do their wooden market in a sustainably managed forest in the Tarn, and each put their hands to the task to build these refuges in scale models. No varnish, shade or paint, so that they blend as naturally as possible into the environment. The three biodiversity musketeers propose to install these shelters themselves in private homes, but also in public spaces linked to communities. They organize activities and training in the main principles of ecology.
