LA PALOMBIÈRE
Restaurant offering a simple lunch menu, a 4-course Sunday menu and old-fashioned dishes on Sunday lunch.
We won't hide it from you, Durance is a small village lost in the Landes de Gascogne that you have to find, just like you find a palombière hidden at the top of a tree. When this "palombière" is found and the pleasure of discovery is satisfied, all you have to do is settle down and enjoy the time spent there. Here, the welcome is charming as well as the service, the decor is like a big bar like the big city cafés. That midday, Petit Futé ate the lunch formula with a homemade Piedmontese style salad, a ham on the bone and its garlic cream (generous) with a gratin of courgettes then a homemade mille-feuille to conclude. The simple and tempting lunchtime formula attracts both visiting professionals and tourists attracted by this homemade dish. On Sunday lunchtime, the restaurant offers a 4-course Sunday menu where the dishes of yesteryear are revived (chicken broth, cassoulet, chicken in a pot...). On the wine side, the Domaine de Pellehaut is notably proposed. Undeniably, the Palombière is an added value for this village and gives it a greedy and attractive asset like an invitation by a friend "paloumayre" to visit it and who does not refuse.
