PRIEURÉ DE LAGRANGE
Priory to visit in Durance, listed as a Monument Historique and featuring a chapel with impressive murals
In the Fourteau family since the 1930s, the Lagrange priory in Durance is a property open to visitors. This listed monument was built by a community of Premonstratensian monks in 1220. Set against a fortified dwelling, the chapel features exceptionally well-preserved murals painted in the 1340s. The association "Les amis du prieuré de Lagrange", founded in 2014, aims to contribute to the restoration and enhancement of the monument, by organizing visits and events.
