The church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption dominates Grenada with its octagonal bell tower, typical of the Toulouse style. Listed as a Historic Monument, the 13th century building has all the characteristics of Southwestern Gothic architecture. Commissioned by the Cistercian abbey of Grandselve, it houses a remarkable collection of paintings signed by the great Toulouse masters of the 17th and 18th centuries as well as a baroque altarpiece and a Cavaillé-Coll organ dating from 1857.
