In Merville, this huge family estate, set in a splendid 30-hectare park which has been awarded the "Remarkable Garden" label, promises a beautiful visit.
A magical place... The Château de Merville is without doubt the most famous castle in the Toulouse area, appreciated by travelers and locals alike. This immense family estate, set in a splendid thirty-hectare park, has been awarded the label "Jardin remarquable". Built by the architect Maduron in the 18th century, the first floor offers magnificent and richly decorated state rooms, which can be discovered during the guided tour. The entrance ticket gives access to the gardens which open onto an enchanting set of paths, traffic circles, old oaks and tall umbrella pines.
But this garden is well known by the inhabitants of Toulouse, especially because it hides an immense labyrinth: ten kilometers of boxwood alleys that evoke two hundred and fifty years of history! If you opt for a combined ticket, you can enjoy the fun trail called "Enigma". It is a scenic route dotted with investigations and mysteries to be solved, well protected in the shade and misted, which is a plus in summer. The theme changes every year. In 2023, the theme is "Tales and Legends". Another not-to-be-missed event is the Easter weekend egg hunt, where nearly 5,000 visitors go in search of some 50,000 eggs hidden throughout the park! A festive event that has become a joyful and greedy ritual for many families.
Please note that several spaces can be made available for your private receptions.

The ratings and reviews below reflect the subjective opinions of members and not the opinion of The Little Witty.
