WOODLAND OF BIGORRE
A superbly preserved natural site, with remarkable flora and fauna, presenting a fine example of the landscapes along the Garonne.
Le Ramier de Bigorre is a superb natural site covering some 30 hectares, protected by the arrêté préfectoral Protection de biotope. Sheltered by a meander of the Garonne, it offers a fine range of landscapes along the banks of the river in its mid-valley. Islands, beaches, oxbows, river meadows... all environments that are home to important and typical flora and fauna. On-site reception kiosk, interpretation trail and two observatories. A fine model for the preservation and restoration of riparian environments.
