FLAVOUR GORGES
Calm and wild gorges between Montmaurin, known for its Gallo-Roman villa, and Lespugue, famous for its Venus statuette
The gorges of the Save river are a two kilometer long gorge nestled in the hollow of 30 meters high cliffs. They are located between Montmaurin and Lespugue - famous for its "Venus", a statuette dating from 25,000 years before our era. The gorges have been inhabited since the Lower Paleolithic. Adjacent to the chapel is the Villa de la Hillière, a complex of pools for thermal treatments. The site known as the "sanctuary of the Hillière" was the object of pilgrimages until the 18th century. A place to be appreciated for its calm and authenticity.
